We are happy to welcome you to our Bergerhof.
Our organic farm is located on the sunny side of Kals am Großglockner. Above all, our guests appreciate the unique location and the wonderful panoramic view. It is particularly important to us that you can enjoy your holiday at the Bergerhof to the fullest and that you feel completely at ease. We therefore ask you to let us know your wishes, suggestions and questions. We always have an ear for you.
Michael
born on January 22nd, 1988 - Bernadette's and Johann Gratz' son
Michael took over the family farm in 2014.
Michael dedicates his heart and soul to agriculture. He still practices his trained job as a locksmith. In summer and autumn he works as a freelance locksmith in East Tyrol. Michael probably inherited his passion for mountaineering from his father. Michael likes to spend his free time in the mountains and is a member of the mountain rescue service, he is a trained mountain guide and it is possible to book him as guide. Michael particularly enjoys music and has been a member of the traditional music band in Kals since 2002.
Monika (Michael's wife)
born 16.05.1987 – née Rogl (House Taurer in Kals)
Monika is a trained hotel and hospitality assistant and bank clerk. Since 2015, Monika has been responsible for the well-being of our guests and family at the Bergerhof. She is a dedicated landlady, for who nothing is more important than our guest's happiness. Monika has inherited the love for nature and the mountains. She enjoys spending time with her family in nature.
Isidor
Michael's and Monika Gratz' eldest son
born on 15.10.2018
Isidor is in the kindergarden. At home at the Bergerhof, Isidor is particularly happy when he can help in the barn in the evenings and with the haymaking in the summer.
Andreas:
Michael's and Monika Gratz' youngest son
born on 24.08.2020
Andreas visit with Isidor the kindergarden in Kals. Andreas has also discovered his passion for agriculture and is all the time by the work.
Johann:
born on 04.12.1950
Retired farmer Hansl actively helps in the agriculture. In summer he looks after the cows on our alpine pasture in Dorfertal.
Hansl is a trained mountain guide and has been a member of the mountain rescue service in Kals for many years. Therefore it is clear that he loves spending his spare time in in the Kals mountains with his wife Bernadette.
Bernadette
born on 13.02.1958
Retired farmer Bernadette helps where it is needed. Whether in the stable, in the breakfast room, with the guest laundry or as a grandmother, she never gets bored. Her passions include hiking and singing. She sings in the Kals church choir and in the VoKals singing group.
